The 2026 World Series of Poker Main Event has its champion, but there is still plenty of tournament poker ahead this fall. Lucas Jumalon won the Main Event in August, while upcoming WSOP Circuit stops will bring competition to New York, Nevada, Indiana, Oklahoma, and other locations.
Who won the Main Event
Lucas Jumalon, a 22 year old from Spokane, Washington, won the championship and $10 million. The tournament concluded on August 5 after Jumalon defeated Finland’s Lauri Saaskilahti in the final matchup. Saaskilahti earned $6 million for second place.
Jumalon entered the final table with the largest chip stack and finished ahead of a field of 9,208 entries. The tournament had a $10,000 entry fee and a prize pool exceeding $85 million.
Experienced professionals also made deep runs. Greg Mueller finished third for $3.75 million, and Michael Gagliano placed fourth for $2.75 million. Further down the standings, former Main Event champion Hossein Ensan finished 13th, Shaun Deeb finished 15th, and Todd Brunson finished 20th.
How did the big names perform
The Main Event was only one tournament in the summer series. Some familiar players had major results in other events.
Daniel Negreanu won his eighth WSOP bracelet. He took first place in the $100,000 Pot Limit Omaha High Roller, earning $2,257,718. A bracelet recognizes a victory in an official WSOP bracelet event.
Phil Hellmuth came close to another bracelet. He finished second to Darren Rabinowitz in the $5,000 Eight Handed No Limit Hold’em event, collecting $464,286. Rabinowitz earned $695,256 for the win.
These finishes show why following the full series matters. A player’s summer can include a major win or a strong final table finish outside the Main Event.
Upcoming WSOP Circuit events
The Circuit continues with tournament series at different venues. Circuit winners compete for gold rings, while the summer championship series awards bracelets.
